Race Entries, New Race Policy
The Committee will be approving a new Race Entry Policy shortly. This will go hand in hand with the current Competition Policy which can be found on our website under the Members Section/Rules/4 Competition Policy. In the mean time I just wanted to point out the basis of the procedure we want you to follow.
Each rower whether Active Senior, Active Recreational or Junior has been allocated a coach. If you are unaware of your coach, I have placed a full list on the pin board outside the office. Allocations occur upon membership renewal. Your coach will also be emailing you shortly to make sure you know your group’s details.
Your coach is responsible for lodging your group’s race entries, NOT your group coordinator (ie: the person that rallies you to make up a crew). They are aware of coming regattas and should be discussing with you your targets, availabilities etc. Each coach then submits their proposals to their RACE ENTRY COORDINATOR. The RACE COORDINATORS are aware of all the ‘rules’ and will reject applications if they know they will not get through the SELECTION PANEL. The RACE ENTRY COORDINATORS plus myself and the Regatta Secretary make up the SELECTION PANEL.

Once entries are approved by the panel they are processed by the Regatta Secretary, Sarah Norris. Coaches and rowers are not to send entries directly to the Regatta Secretary. They will be returned unopened.
The SELECTION PANEL meets monthly and is planning regattas up to 6 weeks ahead.
Corporate Regatta Part 2 – Sunday 13 October from 11am
Due to the “wind out” at SIRC last weekend we have rescheduled the last 5 races for the corporate crews to be on Sunday 13th October between 11am and 1pm. We will run it from this side of the stone wall to the white post on the island. Volunteers needed for tinnies & BBQ lunch at completion. If able to help please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Time trials on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Simon’s time trials now on Tuesdays 5.55am from UTS – 4.5km. Sherry’s time trials now on Thursdays 5.30am from UTS 7km. All welcome. Love the pain!
Learn To Row – Leichhardt
24 adults and 8 juniors commence with orientation this Saturday at 12md. Their first on-the-water session is on Sunday 13th between 7am and 10.30am, just before the Corporate Regatta part 2. Upon completion adults will only be offered Recreational Membership should they wish to continue.
Learn To Row – Pymble
Pymble also start their learn to row on the same Sunday 13th between 7am and 10.30am. That makes for a very busy Sunday.
Ps. I have to be in New Zealand that weekend for a 50th. Good luck to all!
Pymble rowing begins in earnest
Pymble will have squads at the shed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and every afternoon except Friday. Pymble will also be at the shed on Saturday from 6-12, and Sunday from 7-11am. Both these days will have parent groups providing breakfasts for the girls. Welcome breakfast at the club on Saturday 12 October.
