The 2016 Rich Rowing Classic

This annual recreational Christmas social row from Leichhardt to the Lane Cove Weir is on again on Sunday 4 December 2016.

For those who have not done this before it is a fun row in a fleet of eights right up to Lane Cove Weir along the scenic Lane Cove River. As it is a reasonably long way there will be reserve rowers in tinnies and crews will mix and interchange rowers along the way. It is not a race but an event and even if you are relatively new to rowing you will have a good time.
It is open to all club members.

Be at the club by 5.15am so we can launch the tinnies and be on the water by 6 am. Expect to be back about 9.30-10 am.

  1. Reserve your seat and reply to Richard Coleman or Geoff Rich asap
  2. Advise if:
    1. You have a boat licence.
    2. You would also like to stay and have a BBQ breakfast if and when we return to the club.

The A’s in Boston

Wonder what the two A’s have been up to recently? Well after several months of solid training at LRC and fortnightly weekends in Melbourne, Anne and Ange competed in an MUBC Women’s eight in the 2016 Head of The Charles River time trial in Boston held on 22nd October.
And compete they did, 15th of 42 in their division and 2nd in the Grand Masters over 60’s division.
They were beaten in the Grand Masters by a crew of ex US Olympians, some of whom had represented their country in three consecutive Olympics!

Well done Ladies!
