Last week, I received a number of emails from our valued and knowledgeable members answering the question from Split Brain: “Why do we row on the right but drive on the left?”
The prize goes to Andy Pandy:
“We row on the side of the river because we follow international boating laws. Anyone with a boat license would know this!”
Thanks Andy Pandy! Paul Hackett will give you your prize (a pair of Collingwood trunks).
We have two questions this week:
Street Artist: Odus, what is that big white arrow you can see on the Drummoyne side just after the bridge, along the Bay Run? (see picture)
Odus: Well, Street Artist, that’s not an arrow, but The Serpent, a sculpture by Drummoyne Aboriginal artist Jason Wing. Controversial as it has been, with many interpreting the sculpture the wrong way, the work is unfinished, so stay alert for the metamorphosis.
Deep Down: Odus, why if I type “rowing icon” on Google Images I get pictures of kayakers?
Odus: Maybe Andy Pandy can answer this one too?
Send your existential questions to Odus, to see if he’s got enough guts to answer them.
