Membership fees: Last call
If you have not yet paid your membership fees for 2014-2015, remember you will need to pay a joining fee of $200 (competitor) and $100 (for other members) if you renew after 30 September.
Physical Ability: Tuesday 14 October @ 7pm
One of our members, Niamh Moloney, is a Physiotherapist. In conjunction with a colleague, she is carrying out some research at Sydney University on human physical ability throughout a person’s lifespan.
The project will provide valuable information about healthy ageing and development. Results will form a database of normal values that will assist disease management around the globe.
Niamh and Norm will be holding a talk on the project at the Club on Tuesday 14th October at 7pm. All members and friends are welcome. It will be a good opportunity to understand how a person should look after their self as they age.
Club Maintenance Day
Thank you to those who helped rearrange our boats last weekend. All the familiar faces were there and all the regular no shows were not.
I ask those who did not show to coordinate with their crews and come down out of rowing time to do a complete check up on the boats they use. Please fix whatever you can at any time, without waiting for another maintenance day. If you do not know how to fix something, ask someone who looks competent.
Remember: boat and Club maintenance are everyone’s responsibility.
New Office: Building work starting
On Monday 22nd September work commences on the office extension. During this time the sweep and sculling oars next to the disabled toilet will need to be stored neatly elsewhere. The racks will stay in place. They should be able to be returned on Friday evening the 26th.
The most efficient way to use the pontoon space is to lay the boats north to south, not on angles. Smaller boats to the sides, quads and eights in the centre. Make sure the tinnies get wheeled way down so as to maximise the usable area.
Monday 29th October at 6pm. All coaches invited.
