Premiership and Bohemia’s trophies
The RNSW presentation on Tuesday evening was well attended by LRC members. Photo opps all around holding the shield and wearing some of the Bohemia trophy on the head – whatever…
Trophies will be on display at the Club for everyone’s adoration.
Remember to keep Friday Night 7th July free for the LRC Awards at the Three Weeds Rozelle. Starting at about 6pm – finger food, awards (fast not slow), almost speeches-free, great pub, great mates. Celebrate an exceptional year for the club and some excellent performances.
Take a selfie with the Premiership Shield!
Thanks to all who attended the women’s meeting last Sunday morning. As many women are already in crews, the Club will continue to support them with their plans for the season. There is a shared spreadsheet which collects information about (women’s) crews and individual rowers. Access was granted to the members who competed in the past season. If you cannot access, and you are female!, please email Anna Cico (firstname.lastname@example.org). Men not allowed 😉
If you are an “orphan” rower, as in: you are not already in a crew, please signal that to Anna C. The Captain is working through coaching options, but as explained in the meeting, the Club operates mostly on volunteers and self-organisation, so personal initiative is highly encouraged.
Wow! It’s shaping up to being a BIG one! Stay tuned for more details as the crews sign up for training. Still looking for coaches and coxes. Contact Justin with your availability.
Carrying boats and de-rigging on the pontoon
Just a reminder to carry the boats at least half way through the canvas as carrying a boat from the ends will put pressure on the fibres of the hull. Also de-rigging at the pontoon is *highly* discouraged as it creates additional traffic and waiting time. The Captain will have a private word to the individuals who keep doing this.
JB Sharp – this Sunday
Pick up a boat and line up for some fun racing this Sunday. If the water is as good as it’s been this week, it could be a fun regatta. Course is the UTS one, with a finish line at… UTS (doh!). Unusual, so give it a shot!
Blink blink blink
We are liaising with RNSW to see if Maritime can change the blinking sequence and position of the yellow buoys down at UTS. For some reason, they always seem to blink when you are not watching…
JB Sharp hosted by LRC – 30 July
Though a less intensive regatta to organise for the Club, the LRC-hosted JB Sharp will need volunteers for tinnies and a bit of pontoon marshalling. Contact Anna Cico if you can help.
