Fishing Competition on Sydney Harbour
From Rowing NSW
This Saturday and Sunday, August 2-3, is the final of the teams fishing series on Sydney Harbour.
High-speed fishing vessels will be taking off from Drummoyne Sailing Club at 7am on both days and will be travelling across most of the harbour, including down Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers.
While we would expect all river users to respect each other and do their utmost to reduce the risk of accidents, it is important that all rowers and coaches stay extra vigilant over the weekend.
All Members are advised that the Club’s Annual General Meeting will take place on 31 August 2014, 11am, at which time Office Bearers for season 2014/15 will be elected.
Nominations are therefore called for all positions on the Club’s Committee.
Nomination forms can be found online together with a description of Roles & Responsibilities of each position.
All Members are encouraged to consider what they have to offer the Club as an Office Bearer and to speak with existing Committee members about any role.
We desperately need everyone to be more active in the Clubs administration and specifically we need people who can see what needs doing and initiate action.
Please don’t be timid about nominating; your Club needs every member to, at some stage, serve on the Committee.
All coaches are invited to attend a “Coach the Coaches session” at 7:00 pm Friday night 8th August hosted by Charlie Bartlett.
The session will use video to demonstrate correct technique, exercises to improve it and ways to coach change to achieve it.
Focus of the session will be to encourage discussion and work towards all coaches having an improved understanding of how to be an effective coach.
Rowers are also welcome!
Tim Tindale will be running a program in 2014/15 for A, B and C grade scullers. He is after about 4 males and 4 females to be in the squad.
If you are interested please attend a meeting on Saturday 9th August at 8am for a detailed briefing.
Tim is undertaking his Level 2 Coaching Certification and so his program will be structured in line with the course.
Send him an email to confirm your application.
LRC is currently on top of the JB Sharp Point score.
With only the Leichhardt one to go we are in with a good chance to start the season well.
Let’s have a good rollup on Sunday 10th August.
Remember to see Belinda for your boat allocations.
Corporate and Learn To Row Program
The August programs are about to commence.
The first sessions are on Sunday 10th August (JB Sharp day).
There are 15 crews of 8 spread out doing 2 sessions per week each. Boat and tinny allocations will be accurate, so follow the plan.
These people get right of way.
If you are concerned, then look at the rosters and train at the least busy times.
This is our most important single fund raising event of the year. Everyone needs to help so that the companies enjoy the experience and return next year.

Most is occurring when approaching the pontoon or using the slings. This means it is from carelessness, nothing more. Be responsible. Slow down and take care.

Odus has been kidnapped.
We have received this ransom note.
Please help us find him and restore his rightful place on the pontoon.
