Last Sunday saw the last of the JB Sharp regattas hosted by LRC. Firstly I would like to extend a big thank you to all the LRC members who volunteered their time to make this a very successful day. From the tinny drivers, pontoon marshals, start marshals, safety boat personnel, start and finish set up and take down teams, and of course the all-important set up of the course on the water and removal. Of course the club also thanks all of the officials, BROs and JB Sharp Committee who have also made this a very successful regatta series, particularly with our current COVID situation.
It was very pleasing to have LRC rowers representing the club in every event, other than the novice category. We had wins in Women’s Intermediate 4x, Women’s Open 4x, Women’s H1x, and places in WU16 1x, MU16 1x, Men’s Open 2x, Men’s Intermediate 4x, and the Women’s Intermediate 2x. After such a successful day, LRC won the Women’s Intermediate Shield for the Regatta Series. It was an honour to accept the giant shield on behalf of the club. Hopefully next year we can continue and build on this success and maybe even win the entire series!
