Santa's Log

Boat Bookings

Bookings for the coming week (Monday to Sunday) are due by 6pm each Friday. To all those lost sheep who send me requests over the weekend or on the day it may surprise you to know that I do not sit at home waiting to add them to the roster. If you are late then the rules are green boats can be used if unallocated or if the crew fails to turn up by 5.30am (15 minutes after 5.15am). Black boats can only be used by Black Status rowers and with the same time restraints. A list of Black Status rowers is posted on the Allocation Board along with the procedure to become one. Please read Policy.

Christmas Morning Row

XMAS MORNING - OPERA HOUSE ROW Wednesday 25/12/13. Anyone (recreational members and friends) interested in participating in the club's annual Xmas Morning row to the Sydney Opera House & Santa's Sprint (25/12/13) please add your name to the list on the notice board outside the office. Be at the Club ready to row by 5.45am.

Christmas Party - this Saturday night

Keep the presents coming in if you haven't been able to do it yet. A big thanks to all those who have already contributed. Tickets still available. Please tell us today if you are coming. Catering and seating need to be finalised.

Remember the entry fee includes dinner and dessert. Alcohol is BYO. Soft drinks and juices are available for $1. Fancy Dress optional - Christmas theme - Prize for best dressed table. Lots of games to enter, raffles and fun. Bring some coins and notes to join in (EFT and CC available). Start time 6pm. Family and friends are more than welcome.

Take pictures and send them to Santa@lrc.com.au - we will create an album on Facebook to share them around.

Taree Entries

Requested entries close this Friday 20th. See your coach or coordinator to check what you have been proposed in. Entries will be posted just after Boxing Day.
A dinner has been booked for the Club on the Saturday night in Taree. All participants and their families are expected to attend. See Guy Elron for details.

Club Maintenance Day

For all those not attending Taree including myself due to a wedding, I will be organising a Club Maintenance Day on Sunday 12th between 8am and 10am. All recreational and competing members are requested as part of their membership, to donate 2 hours to attend the shed to help carry out maintenance on the boats remaining and the facilities. I will be there to allocate duties. If you can use a hose or spanner we need you!

Private Sculling Oars

Could all members who own private oars please ensure they are labelled with the owners name. All private sculling oars are now stored on a movable rack at the rear of the bay. Rigger racks will be installed shortly where the oars were to complete the "get the mess off the floor" policy!

Recreational Rowing Support Roster

Active senior members have been asked to donate one Saturday or Sunday per season to go out with the Recreational rowers. The initial roster is on the notice boards and the website. Participants are asked to swap with another member if the date is inconvenient. The idea is to go out with an 8 as coach, cox or as a rower to give some feedback and help develop our Recreational participants. It is also a way to get to meet them. It is not supposed to be an intensive high performance critique rating 45 strokes per minute.

Merry Christmas to all

I will be working in Sydney right through the holiday period so boat bookings will be as per the normal procedure.

Santa
