Corporate Regatta - Saturday 28 September

We need volunteers to do the following tasks at SIRC on Saturday 28th Sept. All must be at SIRC by 7am to help set the boats up. We will all be finished by 2pm.

  • Tinnie drivers and crew – 4
  • Pontoon Marshals – 2
  • Pit Crew (repairs) – 2
  • Rowers to fill 3 social eights to compete on the day - 24
  • Boat loading helpers Friday 27th at 4pm (6 eights) - 20
  • Boat rigging helpers at SIRC by 7am with number 10 spanners - 20
  • Coxes for the day – 4

Please email captain@lrc.com.au asap if you are able to help. All Club Members are expected to help in some fashion. This a very important event for the Club.

The Captain would also like to thank everyone for their consideration and looking after the corporate rowers. He has received lots of good comments back. Keep it up.

Moving Forward (after exhaling)

On our website we have added a section called “Squads and Programs” in the members area. In here you will be able to see:

  • Training programs
  • Squad lists
  • Your race coordinator
  • Your coach
  • Race entries and more…

This will be added to over the next few weeks. The women’s group is the first off the rank as they are less patient.

The Russians are in town! and racing this weekend ... come and watch our men in action

Our open men’s eight is representing LRC against the Russians, Syd Uni, Sydney, Mosman and UNSW open eights.

The events are:

  • Friday 20th – 4-6pm: SPRINT MINI REGATTA ON DARLING HARBOUR (around 250 metres) - come and cheer them on
  • Saturday 21st – 8-11am: 5km TIME TRIAL ON MIDDLE HARBOUR
  • Sunday 22nd – Approx 9am-1pm: RACING AT SIRC

Hopefully this is the beginning of a new era for LRC.
