Another New Eight

Due to the extremely generous bequest from Margot Simington and her family we have been able to purchase another new eight. This one is from Queenwood, is also a Sykes but is a lighter weight boat suitable for women and “lightie” men. The Committee has, unsurprisingly, decided to call it the Margot Simington. There will be a christening ceremony in due course.

Pontoon Repairs

Everyone seems to be coping well. Please try to keep what’s left of the pontoon clear for access to the water by rigging your boat on the grass on the Haberfield side of the club.

Damage to Boats

Please be aware that if you damage a boat you will likely be asked to contribute up to the first $500 of cost towards repairing it. So keep a sharp lookout.

Taree

The Taree regatta happens from Jan 13th – 15th. It’s a lot of fun, double points and we usually come away with swag of medals. If you’re coming you will need to ensure that the coordinator of the boat you rowed in at the HotY knows what events you want to be entered into or Christine Seeliger direct, our fearless Regatta Secretary. Accommodation is getting hard to find so you might think about booking.

Tomorrow - help needed

We need to rally a few people to move eights around. Please lend a hand to the Captain.
