This Week @ LRC - 13 May 2016

Dreading rough water?
Check out the finals of the M1x and W1x at the recent European Championships.

Closing the shed

After you row, please be mindful of which boats may or may not still be out on the water.

If you are the last boat in your bay (easy to check), please shut it (put the tinnies inside and lower the roller door).

Far too often single scullers who are rowing later in the morning are left to pack the whole set of tinnies and slings on their own.

State Masters

Good luck to all our ‘older’ members competing and the NSW State Masters regatta this weekend, we have 66 crews entered so will hopefully come away with a few medals.

Spare a thought for Steve Roll who will have to give three K grade scullers a 38 second start in the J-K 1x. He probably thought his days of giving away time on the start were well and truly over – but, on a positive note, good to these all these gentlemen still out on the water and competing.

Remember to show up at the Club Sunday evening at about 5.30pm for boat unloading.

Boat allocations for the weekend are here.

New gym equipment

New gym equipment arrives at the Club on Monday. This will mean a little bit of down time for the gym on Monday evening for setting up.
Some of the items will be retired as they are no long compliant with health and safety.
If you are a user of the gym please ensure that no weights are left on ANY equipment.
Weights are obviously heavy and if bumped whilst on equipment can cause serious injury.

Boat Repairs

All boats are looking good again. Thanks to Bob and Henry and to all who showed up to boat maintenance last weekend.

We have also place the boat maintenance guide on the website for future reference (great work there Matt!)

Feel free to maintain your boat at any time, you don’t need to wait for a club maintenance weekend.

Event at the Club

There will be an event at the Club on Saturday evening – if you are at the Club in the morning please assist to tidy upstairs and move the ergs into to the gym area.

Australian National Masters

Just a reminder that entries for the 2016 Australian Masters Rowing Championships are closing at 11.59pm AEST on Tuesday 17 May – less than one week away!

Get your entries in sooner rather than later to ensure that any issues with your entries can be fixed prior to entries closing – late entries are not permitted.

All entries are to be made directly by those planning to attend this regatta through Regatta Central. Anna Cico can make entries on your behalf if you are unsure on how to do this.

The Club DOES NOT pay for these entries.
Justin will be driving one trailer going to Lake Kawana - all those competing will be asked to contribute to the boat transport.
